Armed Citizen
Trauma Response
You carry to protect life. Now train to save it — with the same hemorrhage control skills used by U.S. military personnel, in two hours.
Overview
You have a gun.
Do you have a tourniquet?
The TimberRaven Armed Citizen Trauma Response™ Certification is a focused, two-hour classroom clinic built around one objective: stopping life-threatening bleeding before EMS arrives. Using military-grade TCCC training props and TrueClot™ bleed simulators, every student leaves with hands-on reps in tourniquet application, hemostatic wound packing, and pressure dressing technique — applied both in good light and in the dark.
This isn't a lecture. It's a skills block. You'll apply every technique multiple times with your hands on equipment that performs like the real thing — because when the moment comes, you won't have time to remember a slide deck.
Why TimberRaven
Not your standard
first-aid class
Most civilian first-aid courses are built around urban emergencies with fast EMS response. Armed citizens operate in a different threat environment. This course is built around that reality.
Military-Grade Training Props
We use the same TCCC props used in DoD pre-deployment training — not bargain-bin mannequins. The tactile feedback is the point.
TrueClot™ Bleed Simulators
TrueClot™ simulates real hemorrhage and inoculates students to the psychological reality of warm, pulsing blood. Students feel the resistance, the urgency, and the feedback that matters — before the moment that does.
Light and Dark Skills Blocks
Emergencies don't wait for good lighting. Students apply every skill in a well-lit environment first, then repeat in low-light conditions — because that's when it counts.
DoD-Standard Technique
Every skill is taught to the same standard used by U.S. military personnel. No improvisation, no shortcuts — just the protocol that works.
Small Groups Only
Eight students maximum. Every student gets hands-on reps with the instructor in the room. Nobody watches from the back.
Two Credentials, Two Hours
DoD-endorsed Stop The Bleed™ certification and your TR Armed Citizen Trauma Response™ credential — before you leave the building.
Format
Two hours.
Three skills. One kit.
No online prereq. No homework. Show up, work, leave credentialed.
Tourniquet Application
DoD-standard placement, tightening, and time-marking on limb wounds — applied in light and in the dark.
Hemostatic Wound Packing
Deep cavity packing with TrueClot™ simulators — the closest thing to the real skill without an actual wound.
Pressure Dressing
Israeli bandage technique, improvised dressing, junctional and extremity wound management.
Light & dark skills blocks. Every student applies all three techniques in normal lighting first, then repeats the capstone scenario in a low-light environment. Emergencies don't come with good lighting — your training shouldn't either.

FAQ
Common questions
No. The course covers hemorrhage control skills, not firearms. The "armed citizen" designation reflects the audience this course is designed for — people who have accepted personal responsibility for their own safety and that of others around them.
None required. The skills are protocol-driven and built for people with no medical training. If you can follow three steps under pressure, you can do this.
Nothing but yourself. The classroom is equipped with all training props, simulators, and materials.
Yes. Private group sessions are available for groups up to 8. We can run the clinic at Tactical Penguin or, in some cases, bring the training to you. Contact us to discuss.
This course is not a CPR course. It is a focused hemorrhage control clinic built around the single most preventable cause of death in traumatic injuries — uncontrolled bleeding. The skills are faster to learn, more immediately applicable, and more likely to be the skills you actually need in a self-defense or public emergency scenario.
TimberRaven clinics are intentionally immersive. If at any point you feel you cannot or do not wish to continue, we will issue a full refund — no questions asked. If you're struggling with the material, your instructor will provide dedicated 1:1 support to help you succeed. In the rare event you are unable to complete the final scenario exams, we'll issue a voucher for a complimentary return session so you can come back when you're ready.
